The result of US invasion of Iraq in a nutshell |

She said biting off the words: "We thought the Americans would bring us a better life, but they brought us nothing but suffering."
"The Americans allowed terrorists to pour into Iraq," she says.
"They propped up a corrupt and incompetent government."
"They insulted ordinary Iraqis and sometimes killed civilians without being held accountable."
"We greeted them with flowers, and now they laugh at us," she says.
"They throw candy at our children, then laugh at them when they fight over it."
The above was said by Suhad Khadim, she is an Shiite Iraqi, she says, she expected to benefit from the Shiite-dominated government, but she feels diminished and powerless.
And hear this, she says that SHE LONGS FOR THE DAYS OF HUSSEIN (Saddam that is), when at least it was safe on the streets and her husband has steady work.
Finally she says "Really, I feel so sorry for my country, we have gone back 1,000 years."
On the opposite, let's hear what Army Pfc, Joshua Jones 22, who served two tours in Iraq says: "We set up a democracy, we helped Iraq become more like America, in the next 10 to 20 years, well, I could see us having to come back."
Pfc, Royce Brunner, 21 says: "We were there to defend our country against terrorism, we went in to stop people in the Middle East from killing us. We succeeded, Our families are safer now."
Reading what the men who were given guns have to say in contrast with the poor Iraqi woman had to say, I wonder who is the educated citizen of a civilized world, and which country will prevail at the end.

I would have left it alone, not mentioning the death of Steve Jobs, after all, there are more important things happening in the world, at least to me, killings in Syria, the torture of kids and women and innocent people there, the siege of Gaza, the uncertainty in Egypt, the challenges in Libya, Saleh’s plots in Yemen and the Islamophobia in the USA. I would have passed it, except when I saw the following comment in facebook: Sydna Mohamed (SAAWS), Alexander the Great, and Steve jobs.

So a councilman named his dog "Muhammad," announced it in City meeting, and posted a blog, which he later argued, to the meaning that Muhammad is America's bitch. He is doing it for freedom of speech.
What should we do? We should boycott Denmark.
Where is Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf countries, who they had no problem boycotting Demark cheese because of an insulting cartoon, but when it comes to America, I have not heard anything yet.
One might ask, why are you talking about them, what about you, what are you asking Muslims to do, especially Muslims in the US.
I read MPAC and CAIR response to the incident, was very mild, calling it childish, or tasteless and asking for an apology.
This is definitely not enough, because the Councilman will not apologize, why should he, what he has to lose politically if he did not apologize, absolutely nothing. Actually, he gotten some support, and I expect this support to grow if this story picks up steam, under the banner of freedom of speech, which we know that this banner does not usually cover Muslims, where 10 students are in court now, in the popular #irvine11 case, because they opened their mouth while Muslims.
Sadly, if the Muslim community does not have a strong political response to such incidents, then it will keep happening and each time the offender will go further in his offense, which will get us used to such insults, and many people, including some of our kids, will start believing that they deserve such insults, and we should be thankful that we are allowed to just live in this country, after all few insults here and there will not hurt anyone!!
I will demand that MPAC, MAS, and CAIR, the organizations asking for our charity money, to step up to these insults to our Prophets and make the offender pay the price politically, if Irvine11 students are put on trial because they interrupted Israeli ambassador speech for few minutes, we should try to do the same for the people who insults our religion and our Prophet and the faith of our community.

She told me that because I’m not covered then I’m not a Muslim, really! |

Please raise your hand if you have heard this story before, especially if you are a Muslim living in the West: A sister, not wearing the Islamic head-scarf, mentioning how that other sister (and in many cases sisters) told her that because she is not covered, she is then not Muslim.
Ok, please put your hands down.
I have heard it so many times before, and like many others, my response was the typical expected response from an open-minded tolerant Muslim who knows better, the blood rushed to my brain and I felt upset, how dare these backward Muslimahs do that, with what right and authority they declare someone is not a Muslim! Why they concentrate on the Hijab and forget about other deeds, and of course I have to through the popular argument that there are some many Hijabis out there, who are doing bad deeds, hence Hijab is not a guarantee for anything.
Then this story happened again, then again, then again, so I started to ask myself,
